This video presents my personal hobby project developed in the X-Plane flight simulation platform, where I’ve designed and simulated a cruise missile with a detachable booster and landing parachute. The missile features a realistic launch and recovery sequence, all modeled and animated within X-Plane. To bring this concept to life, I created a custom plugin extension that enables:
- Missile erection and launch procedure simulation
- Booster separation during flight
- Parachute deployment via a dedicated button interface
As far as I’m aware, this is probably the first and only standalone missile project published in video within the X-Plane simulation community. It demonstrates the platform’s flexibility for modeling unconventional aircraft and systems beyond traditional aviation.
All work is done purely for educational and simulation enthusiasm purposes, exploring the capabilities of X-Plane’s physics engine and SDK for complex flight modeling scenarios, all driven by personal passion and curiosity.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you find it as exciting as I did building it!
